Rethinking the New World Order

There is a fine line between demanding the services people have already paid government to provide and surrendering collective power by continually begging government to save us.

Public officials must be held accountable. But what if communities stopped measuring their power by whether the government finally listened?

Consider our roads. We demand pavement so vehicles can move faster, then install speed bumps because vehicles are moving too fast. A pothole and a speed bump perform almost the same function, but one is called neglect and the other infrastructure.

That does not mean accepting collapsed roads or government negligence. It means questioning whether better infrastructure must always mean more pavement, more traffic, and more expansion.

Jupiter wants to expand. Saturn establishes the healthy boundaries that make growth sustainable. Every living system needs both. Expansion without limits eventually consumes the system supporting it.

This is how I envision a New World Order.

Not one enormous government controlling people everywhere. Government serving people should remain small enough for communities to be heard and involved in the decisions affecting their lives.

The larger global structure should not exist to control humanity. It should protect the balance of the planet as a whole. Rivers, oceans, forests, wildlife, and the atmosphere do not recognize political borders.

Global responsibility for the planet. Local power for the people.

Perhaps the future is not about choosing between government and community. It is about returning each form of power to its proper scale.
