Center of Mystic Arts Finds Its Footing in Bribri

Center of Mystic Arts has arrived in Bribri, Talamanca, where we are being hosted by Finca Hernández—a beautiful working farm surrounded by mountains and resting beside the river.

Most importantly, Chola and Asuna have found a home. We are settling into farm life while preparing the space for the next evolution of CoMA’s Equine Energy program. The riding arena is being repaired and improved so that we can begin offering equitation, classical dressage foundations, natural horsemanship and equine energy experiences.

My journey as an equestrian began in the United States, but caring for horses in Costa Rica has required me to learn an entirely different relationship with the land. Life with horses in the wild landscape of Guanacaste taught me about freedom, resilience and natural movement. Now, on the Caribbean side, I am discovering a new balance between that freedom and the structure of farm life. The climate, vegetation, soil and seasons are different here, and the horses continue to teach me what they need in each environment.

Finca Hernández may not be the permanent home of Center of Mystic Arts, but it is a place where we can take root, grow and begin inviting people into the work again. It feels like a bridge between what CoMA has been and what it is becoming.

We are also opening the space to aligned volunteers, equestrians, artists and travelers who would like to participate in the life of the farm. I am especially calling in flow artists interested in exploring movement, energy and creative collaboration with horses.

There is still much to build, but the foundation is taking shape: horses, mountains, river, arena, community and room for something new to emerge.

Center of Mystic Arts is growing again—this time from the Caribbean mountains of Bribri.
